KERI’s UST Master’s and Ph.D. Programs

University of Science and Technology (UST), jointly founded by the government-funded research institutes specializing in science and technology, provides practical, student-centered education.

KERI’s UST offers Master’s and Ph. D. programs for the main R&D areas of KERI, such as Energy Conversion, New and Renewable Energy System, Dye-sensitized Solar Cell (DSC), Functional Ceramics, DC Grid, Power IT, Electrical Materials, Nano Hybrid Insulator, and Nano Carbon, etc..

UST Characteristics

  • Students are taught by the outstanding researchers of KERI
  • Education focus on on-the-job training by using cutting-edge equipment and research facilities in KERI
  • Degree program is completed under the full-time education system at the research labs of KERI

Scholarships & Benefits

  • Monthly training scholarships
    : 1.62 million won for Master’s program student
    : 2.02 million won for Ph. D. student
  • Research allowance (R&D project participants)
  • Dormitory(2 people per room) and health examination (once a year)

Majors at KERI

  • Energy Conversion Engineering, Electrical Material Engineering
  • Other majors on 5T fields (IT, BT, ET, NT and ST) and ICORE(industry cooperation research education) are available in other campuses. (For more details, please refer to the UST website.)

Admission

  • Admissions in the 1st term (enrollment in Mar.) and the 2nd term (enrollment in Sep.) every year
  • An individual who has or is scheduled to acquire a Bachelor’s degree and who passed UST’s admissions screening
