KERI’s UST Master’s and Ph.D. Programs

University of Science and Technology (UST) offers Master’s and Ph.D. programs for Energy Conversion, New and Renewable Energy System, Dye-sensitized Solar Cell (DSC), Functional Ceramics, DC Grid, Power IT, Electrical Maerials, Nano Hybrid Insulator, and Nano Carbon, etc., which are the main R&D areas of KERI.

UST, jointly founded by the government-funded research institutes specializing in science and technology, is a graduate school under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and provides practical, student-centered education.

UST Characteristics

  • Select elite students are taught by the outstanding researchers of KERI
  • Practical, hands-on education is providing using the state-of-the-art equipment of KERI
  • Degree program is completed under the full-time education system at the research labs of KERI

Scholarships & Benefits

  • Monthly training scholarships as of March 2013: 1.62 million won for Master’s program student; 2.02 million for Ph.D. student
  • Research allowance (R&D project participants)
  • Financial assistance for overseas training (partial training expenses paid for outstanding students)
  • Dormitory and industrial accident insurance
  • Dormitory and health examination (once a year)

  • Other specialization programs focusing on 5T fields (IT, BT, ET, NT and ST) available at other campuses

Specialization programs at KERI

  • Admissions in the 1st term (enrollment in March) and the 2nd term (enrollment in Sept.) every year
  • An individual who has or is scheduled to acquire a Bachelor’s degree and who passed UST’s admissions screening
